Full-Time Position Summary The Workover Derrickman is responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of a workover rig during well servicing and maintenance operations. This position performs duties related to pipe handling, rig maintenance, fluid management, and equipment operation while working from the derrick or rig floor. The Derrickman plays a critical role in ensuring operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with rig-up and rig-down of workover equipment. Handle tubing, rods, casing, and downhole tools during workover operations. Operate pipe handling equipment and assist with tripping pipe in and out of the well. Work from the derrick to rack tubing and rods safely and efficiently. Monitor and maintain drilling/workover fluids as required. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and maintain rig equipment and tools. Perform routine preventative maintenance on pumps, engines, hoisting equipment, and associated rig components. Assist the Rig Operator during well servicing operations. Follow established lifting, hoisting, and rigging procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping standards. Identify and report equipment deficiencies, hazards, and unsafe conditions. Participate in daily safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and pre-job planning. Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Respond appropriately to emergency situations following company procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous oilfield workover or drilling rig experience preferred. Ability to safely work at heights in a derrick. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and rig equipment. Valid driver's license may be required. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and physical examination. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of workover rig operations and equipment. Understanding of well servicing procedures and pipe handling techniques. Strong commitment to workplace safety and hazard recognition. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in changing weather and environmental conditions. Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions in high-risk environments. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 50 feet. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended shifts (typically 12 hours). Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty conditions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall protection, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, flame-resistant clothing, and steel-toed boots. Work Environment Outdoor oilfield work environment. Exposure to heavy machinery, moving equipment, noise, vibration, chemicals, and weather extremes. Rotational schedules may include nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods away from home. Requires adherence to all safety policies, environmental regulations, and customer site requirements. Preferred Certifications H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) Safety Certification First Aid/CPR Well Control Awareness Forklift Certification (if applicable) OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred) PEC SafeLand or equivalent oilfield orientation (as required by customer) Key Performance Expectations Maintain an excellent safety record. Perform work efficiently while minimizing downtime. Demonstrate reliability, attendance, and teamwork. Maintain equipment in safe operating condition. Follow all operational procedures and company standards. Contribute to a positive safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives. Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
