Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, hard working and skilled Equipment Operator specializing in grading and excavation to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery to shape and prepare construction sites, Grading around homes, ensuring projects progress efficiently and safely. You will contribute directly to the successful completion of infrastructure, paving, and site development projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals passionate about construction and heavy equipment operation to make a tangible impact on large-scale projects. Responsibilities Operate a variety of heavy equipment including skid steers, excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and machinery to perform grading, excavation, and site preparation tasks. Conduct precise earthmoving activities such as digging trenches, leveling surfaces, and backfilling to meet project specifications. Perform routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Follow all safety protocols and construction site procedures to maintain a secure work environment. Collaborate with project managers and crew members to execute tasks efficiently while adhering to project timelines. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance needs. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar machinery. Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on equipment. Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving preferred. Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures. Prior experience working on construction sites involving grading, excavation, paving, or utility installation is highly desirable.
