Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Articulated Haul Truck Operator to join or team. The Haul Truck Operator is responsible for transporting materials on construction job sites in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. The operator ensures proper equipment operation, adheres to all company and OSHA safety standards, and maintains clear communication with supervisors and dispatch to support project success. Essential Job Duties Operate articulated/off-road haul trucks to transport dirt, aggregate, asphalt millings, rock, and other construction materials safely and efficiently throughout the job site. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking oil, hydraulic fluids, coolant, brakes, tires, lights, steering components, and fuel levels. Follow designated haul routes and maintain awareness of changing job site conditions, traffic patterns, grades, and weather conditions. Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, equipment operators, and other crew members regarding production needs, delays, hazards, equipment issues, and safety concerns. Load, haul, and dump materials in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining proper load distribution and avoiding spillage. Operate equipment safely around personnel, utilities, structures, and other heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, and graders. Perform routine equipment maintenance, including fueling, greasing, cleaning, and maintaining the truck in good operating condition. Report mechanical issues, equipment malfunctions, accidents, incidents, or unsafe working conditions immediately. Assist with general labor duties when equipment operation is not required. Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating articulated haul trucks, off-road haul trucks, rock trucks, or similar heavy equipment. Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and equipment operating practices. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain. Ability to read and understand basic operational and safety instructions. Valid driver's license preferred. Physical Demands Moderate physical effort required to operate haul truck and related equipment. Frequent climbing in and out of truck cab. Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking on uneven jobsite terrain. Occasional lifting of materials under 25 pounds. Ability to lift materials weighing 60 pounds or more when required. Physical Activity Requirements Ability to grasp, push, and pull levers and operate foot pedals. Repetitive wrist, hand, finger, ankle, and foot movements. Ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting or standing. Ability to climb, balance, and maneuver safely on job sites. Ability to communicate effectively through spoken word. Ability to hear and distinguish equipment sounds that may indicate mechanical issues. Responsibility for Equipment, Process, and Materials Responsible for preventing damage to equipment and transported materials. Accountable for proper securing, handling, inspection, and operation of haul truck. Responsible for safe operation to protect personnel, property, and company assets. Why you should work for
