We are seeking a reliable and experienced Yard Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a Hostler Truck to transport freight and materials within the yard and to designated delivery points. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficient driving, and proper handling of different types of intermodal containers and trailers. The Yard Driver plays a critical role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining smooth yard operations and is essential to the daily operations. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and a commitment to maintaining safety standards in compliance with OSHA regulations.

Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to company safety policies and OSHA guidelines. Operate forklifts and/or other yard equipment when necessary for loading or unloading freight. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Assist with yard organization, including moving trailers and equipment as needed. Communicate with railroad staff to ensure timely loading and unloading of goods, while maintaining accurate record keeping. Follow all federal, state, and company safety regulations during operations. Maintain a clean and organized rail yard area, ensuring that all materials are stored properly. Assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring that safety protocols are always followed. Must have open availability to work any needed shift and weekends. Employees are subject to a shift change every six months.The following schedules are seniority-based:

12:15 AM-8:45 AM 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM 4:15 PM-12:30 AM •Once certified as a driver, mandatory overtime is given based on operational demand. Requirements Experience operating a Forklift or Side Loader is a plus. Experience in truck driving, route driving, or delivery driving is preferred. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy loads when necessary. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues. Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to driving and yard operations. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Valid driver's license (DL) Good driving record with a focus on safety compliance. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.Training:
Employees will train at the entry-level Ground Person position directing crane operators who are loading and unloading cargo containers from railcars. The ground person is also responsible for preparing railcars for loading and unloading by removing and installing IBC locks. Once training is complete the employee will begin training in the Hostler Driver position. Drivers perform a variety of driving tasks, including hauling containers from the rail track to other areas of the intermodal yard for outside driver pickup, moving chassis, and moving containers about the intermodal yard in a safe and efficient manner.Videos:
