Health, Dental and Vision Position Summary Bjork Construction has an excellent opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Operator Foreman to operate heavy equipment in a variety of different environments within the state of California. This is for rural and non-highway work. The Heavy Equipment Operator Foreman will be proficient in the use of a diverse range of construction equipment including Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, Rollers, Graders, and other pieces of equipment. This foreman role must have past foreman experience and be able to lead a team of operators and laborers. We are looking for someone who is committed to our team, reliable, honest, and able to run and mentor crew members. CandidateMUST HAVE CLASS A LICENSE.
We are growing our civil department and need someone that wants to grow with us! Responsibilities and Duties Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Perform and document daily JHA's, safety toolbox topics, and equipment checks. Lead a team of other operators and laborers Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on equipment. Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. Use various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, ditching, loading, excavating and stockpiling. Operate equipment on utility access roads in order to improve conditions. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors. Be flexible on the changing needs of various clients. Perform other construction-related duties as required. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Requirements and Abilities Must have at least 3 years of foreman experience Ability to run and oversee small crews. Must have the ability to travel throughout the Bay Area with occasional travel outside of the Bay Area. Ability to work outside in all seasons. Must have a "safety first" attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required. Must possess the ability to operate equipment in mountainous terrain and on logging access roads. Must possess a valid driver's license. Class A commercial drivers license with tanker endorsements. OSHA 30. Timely and regular attendance is an essential requirement. Must pass drug test Must have a satisfactory DMV pull and background check Education and Experience 4 Years of civil work experience. Highschool Education. Certifications of training. Previous experience operating equipment on mountain and logging access roads where you are on steep slopes, very rural conditions and limited access. Previous knowledge of earthwork, road and highway construction is preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery. Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment. Must be able to physically navigate construction sites, including but not limited to walking on uneven ground, climbing stairs and ladders. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.Job Type:
