Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy construction and earth-moving equipment on job sites that may include hazardous waste environments. This role requires a current 40‑Hour

certification and strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks safely and efficiently. Perform excavation, grading, trenching, material handling, and site preparation activities. Work on projects involving hazardous materials while complying with OSHA, EPA, and site-specific safety plans. Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks on equipment. Identify and report mechanical issues, safety hazards, or environmental concerns. Follow all

protocols, including use of PPE, decontamination procedures, and exposure controls. Assist with site cleanup, remediation, and waste handling as required. Read and interpret site plans, safety documents, and equipment manuals. Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and crew members. Maintain accurate records related to equipment operation and safety compliance. Essential Skills Valid 40‑Hour

certification (current and in good standing). Proven experience operating heavy equipment in construction, industrial, or environmental settings. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and hazardous waste site operations. Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and varying weather environments. Strong attention to safety, detail, and situational awareness. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, and skid steers. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monterey Park, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/hr.
