Job Description:

As an Equipment Operator at Cornerstone Construction Company, you will play a crucial role in preparing sites, grading, excavating and placing wet/dry utility piping and conduit. Reporting to the Director of Construction and Supervision, you will participate with a team of construction workers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

• Safely Operate tracked and rubber wheeled equipment such as: excavators, backhoes, skid steer, forklifts, loaders, boom lifts, etc.
• Conduct regular pre-operation inspections to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Knowledge of and certification in trench excavation, shoring, grading, material loading.
• Loading, Securing and Safety transporting equipment.
• Anticipate equipment service needs and coordinate equipment service when required.
• Maintain strict compliance to all pertinent safety protocols, practices and regulations at all times
• Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards, maintaining high levels of quality and craftsmanship.
• Load, secure and transport assigned equipment to/from jobsites and service providers.
• Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and inventory logs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and building codes.
• Assist in work with other construction personnel as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and current medical clearance
• Proven track record of safe operation on Public Works, commercial and residential construction projects.
• Knowledge of trenching, excavation and shoring regulations.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.

Compensation:

$20.00 - $50.00 per hour, depending on experience and productivity.
