This is a full-time position out of our corporate office in Riverside , CA.
JOB SUMMARY
: This position plays a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly, balancing the fast pace of dispatching with detailed administrative responsibilities - managing dispatch operations, responding to client calls, and coordinating crews. You'll play a key role in our growing underground utility services group, operating multiple hydrovac and subsurface investigation divisions across Southern California and supporting the General Manager through a major expansion. This is a right-hand role to senior leadership during a high-growth phase, with significant career runway into project management or operations management as the business scales. FLSA Classification:
Exempt (Salary) Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Engineering Support job setup, USA/811 tickets, permits, traffic control coordination, and pre-mobilization checklists Review and process field tickets, daily reports, and time entries for accuracy and billing readiness Track project costs, equipment utilization, and crew assignments across all divisions Maintain submittals, certified payroll documentation, and project files Build reporting packages for senior leadership and client-side program managers Manage onboarding documentation, safety paperwork, certifications, and union compliance tracking Dispatch & Operations Coordinate daily dispatch of hydrovac trucks, GPR/locating crews, and field personnel across multiple operating divisions Field customer and crew calls, including extended availability and rotating on-call coverage during active project phases Interface with utility client program managers, foremen, dispatchers, and project managers to keep schedules aligned Monitor equipment status, DOT compliance, and truck readiness across the fleet What We're Looking For:
2+ years in construction project engineering, utility services dispatch, hydrovac, locating, or project coordination Comfortable with extended availability — this work doesn't stop at 5 p.m. Strong communication skills; able to keep crews, customers, and office aligned simultaneously Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable picking up dispatch, fleet, and project management software quickly Detail-oriented with ticket review, billing prep, and document control Self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision in a fast-moving environment Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred Familiarity with union signatory work Must pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check Must have a valid driver's license. Physical Demands, Screen Time & Ergonomics Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Frequent use of keyboard, mouse, and telephone Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, heavy equipment, noise, dust, and fumes Requires regular use of a computer, which entails looking at a monitor for extended periods; employer provides ergonomic workstations and rest breaks in accordance with California law Occasional reaching, bending or lifting of small packages or files up to 20-25 lbs Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with applicable law.
