Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Duty Wrecker Driver to join our team. This role involves operating heavy-duty tow trucks to recover, transport, and assist with large commercial vehicles such as semi-trucks, buses, and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and capable of working in high-pressure roadside situations. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy-duty wreckers to tow and recover large commercial vehicles Perform winching, recovery, and accident cleanup services Respond promptly to dispatch calls, including roadside assistance and emergency recovery Secure vehicles and equipment safely for transport Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment Maintain accurate service and incident reports Communicate professionally with customers, law enforcement, and dispatch Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures Perform basic maintenance and upkeep of assigned truck Requirements Valid CDL Class A with appropriate endorsements Proven experience operating heavy-duty wreckers Clean driving record or as clean as possible drug screening Strong knowledge of towing and recovery techniques Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts Physically capable of handling demanding roadside work (lifting, climbing, etc.) Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Preferred Qualifications Certifications in towing and recovery (e.g., WreckMaster, TRAA) Mechanical experience with diesel trucks and heavy equipment Experience with accident recovery and load shifts Work Environment Outdoor work in various weather conditions Fast-paced, high-pressure roadside and accident scenes On-call and emergency response situations Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay (hourly / commission / per call — customize as needed) Overtime opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance (if applicable) Paid time off Uniforms and equipment provided
