You will be able to work on all types of equipment and not get pigeon holed into one piece of equipment all day long. Most of our equipment is new within the last few years. We do a variety of types of excavating and construction work so everyday is different. We believe in working hard and having a good life balance. We look for team players and you will be a valued respected member of our staff. The primary role will be
Equipment Operators, Mainly:
excavators, wheel loaders, medium and mini excavators and skid-steers and graders.
Jobs:
Small to medium size excavation and general construction jobs. Experience with operating wheel loader, skid steers, mini ex, excavators, road graders and laser level.
Duties and responsibilities:
Safety first mentality! ability to effectively operate equipment in a safe manner at all times, in an effort to eliminate damage and injury when excavating in the vicinity of underground utilities (communication, power, natural gas, water, etc.) Ability to effectively read blueprints Computer experience is a plus. Ability to understand excel spreadsheets, Experience in underground utility construction a plus Use of hand tools (rake, wrench, shovel, etc.) Use of power tools (hand saw, screw guns, demolition saw, compaction equipment, generators, air compressors, laser level, pipe level etc.) as needed.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as an equipment operator CDL license a plus but not required. OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus Ability to understand survey grade stakes Reliable transportation and relatively clean drivers license required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
exposure to weather elements year round such as hot, cold, rain, snow, cold, dry and windy conditions. Weather conditions may change without warning. Ground conditions will vary based on weather conditions or site conditions and may include working in mud and water. May be exposed to noise from heavy equipment and tools. Exposure to some confined spaces such as but not limited to; trenches, trench boxes, manholes, inlets, vaults, pipes and excavations. Operators are subject to continuous bouncing, shaking and equipment vibration throughout the course of their shift. Work functions require the ability to sit, stand, and ride in vehicles for long periods of time, as well as the physical ability and mobility to repeatedly push, pull and climb repeatedly, to access equipment, modify attachments, and control cabin. Work functions also require ability to: Push/pull/manipulate hand tools up to 54 ft/lbs. (force) Lift/load 55 lbs. and carry 150 ft, including but not limited to fittings, generators, jumping jacks, water meters, equipment, and/or various other materials Ability to squat and kneel Ability to climb in and out of equipment Ability to reach above head and 6-inches with fine gross motor skill Ability to operate various-sized fire extinguishers in training or emergency situations Ability to dig/shovel various soils while performing daily duties Job locations: Front Range and some mountain work.
Supervisory expectations:
