Overview Looking for a Heavy Equipment Sennobagen Operator with experience for our facility in Danbury, CT $28-$34 an hour Monday thru Friday and some Saturdays from 6am to 3:30pm Interstate Waste Services is the most progressive and innovative provider of solid waste and recycling services in the greater New York, New Jersey and Connecticut markets with a rail-served landfill in Ohio! Essential Job Summary:
A Sennebogen Operator is a specialized heavy equipment operator who works with Sennebogen machines — purpose-built material handlers designed for waste and heavy-duty loading/unloading tasks. These operators are essential for moving logs, lumber, and other different waste materials efficiently and safely in waste related industries.
Essential Job Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. Core Responsibilities Operating and maintaining Sennebogen equipment such as the 728 on tires (wheeled) Loading and unloading logs, lumber, and other waste materials onto trucks or designated areas Transporting materials within the worksite while following safety guidelines Routine inspections of machinery to identify defects or malfunctions and report them promptly Performing basic maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance Collaborating with forestry teams to coordinate tasks and support efficient workflow Adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment Reporting incidents, accidents, or near-misses to supervisors immediately Participating in training to improve equipment operation and safety skills Supporting sustainable forestry practices and environmental conservation
Requirements and Qualifications:
Key Skills and Qualifications Proven experience as a Sennebogen Operator or similar heavy equipment operator in waste related industry In-depth knowledge of operating Sennebogen machinery and its capabilities Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Excellent vision (or use of prescribed lenses) and manual dexterity Strong understanding of safety protocols for heavy equipment Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for navigating challenging terrain Physical fitness and stamina to work in various weather conditions Strong communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving Work Environment Sennebogen Operators typically work outdoors in waste settings, often in remote or challenging terrain. They must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and may be required to travel to different job sites In summary: The Sennebogen Operator role combines heavy equipment operation, material handling, and safety compliance, with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and teamwork in waste operations.
