Full Job Description Job Summary:
HAYNES is seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating a variety of heavy equipment used in both site preparation and crushing/screening operations and will have experience operating 980 and 988 loaders. This role requires a strong understanding of job site safety, machinery maintenance, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of heavy equipment including, but not limited to: excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, haul trucks, and screening/crushing equipment. Perform tasks related to site preparation, grading, trenching, and general earthmoving. Set up, operate, and maintain crushing and screening equipment to process materials efficiently and safely. Conduct routine inspections and perform basic maintenance on machines to ensure optimal operation. Assist with equipment mobilization/demobilization and site setup. Load and unload materials safely using appropriate equipment. Read and interpret site plans, instructions, and safety guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations. Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or other issues to supervisors in a timely manner. Collaborate with other crew members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating a wide range of heavy equipment. Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required. Ability to read and interpret grade stakes, plans, and safety signs. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with basic equipment maintenance. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety practices. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in various conditions, and perform repetitive tasks. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or travel to different job sites as needed.
Preferred Skills:
MSHA/OSHA
certification. Experience with mobile jaw, cone, and impact crushers and screeners. GPS or laser grading system experience. Welding or mechanical repair skills a plus.
