Job Description
GPS Dozer Operator Foshee Construction Co., Inc. Job Summary The GPS Dozer Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may also include trucks, front-end loaders, rollers, water trucks, end-dumps and other pieces of equipment as needed for job progression. Our GPS system is Topcon. Qualification Completion of High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least two to three (2-3) years of experience in the operation of heavy equipment. Must have knowledge and experience of water, sewer and storm installations. Must have the ability to communicate effectively. Must have knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures including but not limited to backing up procedures, use of flagmen and spotters, signage, incident reporting, required personal safety equipment and lifting of heavy loads. Must have some knowledge of equipment operation, cleaning and maintenance requirements. Essential Functions
- Operates heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury and property damage.
- Performs daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Cleans heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Ensures heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Participates in routine maintenance.
- Practices workplace safety.
- Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor; cleanse equipment.
- Performs other routine duties as directed by the Foreman.

Completion of High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to follow specific directions. Ability to communicate and understand English. Prefer prior training on competent person, confined space and trench safety.Physical Demands:

The employee is occasionally (26%-50% of the duration of the shift) required to sit. Will be frequently (51%-75% of the duration of the shift) using hands to finger, use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, handle, or feel; objects, materials, controls and tools. Will occasionally (26%-50% of the duration of the shift) work at heights, climb, and work off of platforms; balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or craw. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise levels at the job sites are usually loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.EOE & Drug Statement:
