Summary We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team at Bermont Materials. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to excavate and load materials efficiently and safely into haul trucks and/or processing plants. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our operations and ensure timely delivery of materials to our clients in Sarasota, Charlotte, Desoto, and Lee Counties. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as a excavators/backhoe for loading materials. Ensure safe handling of materials during excavation processes. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning using our app. Requesting repairs/ maintenace when needed using app. Collaborate with team members to coordinate material movement effectively. Maintain accurate records of materials loaded and unloaded. Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times. Requirements Proven experience of at least 1 yr as an excavator/backhoe operator or similar role in the construction industry. Minor mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation. MSHA certification is preferred but not required Scale operation for precise loading is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Good cell phone knowledge is used to complete onboarding, downloading apps, completing pre-shifts and requesting work orders Following time and attendance requirements Complying to appropriate PPE/uniform requirements Physical requirements: ability to lift 50lbs and enough upper body/back strength to pull ones-self into cab of machine to operate controls while sitting for 10 hours a day while driving on uneven/ bumpy terrain.
