CMC is heavily invested in both Marine and Rail sectors. With a focus on family values, safety, and customer service, CMC currently has depots in 12 cities throughout the Southeast and Gulf regions and over 40 Maintenance and Repair sites throughout the Northeast, Southeast, Southern, and Gulf regions. Due to growth and expansion, we are currently searching for a Container Lift Operator to join our team in Conley, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy lifting equipment in a fast-paced container yard or industrial environment. This position is responsible for safely loading, unloading, moving, and positioning containers and equipment while ensuring compliance with all company safety standards and operational procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate container lifting equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Load, unload, move, and position containers, materials, and equipment as required.
- Perform daily pre-operational and post-operational inspections of equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and site-specific operational guidelines.
- Work closely with ground crews, supervisors, and other team members to complete lifts and container movements safely and efficiently.
- Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and container traffic to ensure a safe work environment.
- Accurately complete required operational and inspection documentation.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the worksite and equipment areas.
- Respond promptly to operational needs and changing workload demands.
- Work overtime and flexible schedules as needed to support business operations.
- Other duties as required to meet business needs. Job Requirements
- Previous heavy equipment, container handler, top lift, reach stacker, or crane operation experience preferred.
- Valid operator certifications preferred.
- Strong understanding of container lifting safety procedures and safe equipment operation.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials as needed.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and accuracy.
