Job Description
Overview The Fine Grader's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating all types and sizes of heavy equipment including: loaders, bulldozers, excavators, and various attachments. They must perform daily maintenance and inspection before operating machinery, and will perform clearing, stripping, sitework, storm drain, fine grading tasks, base and paving work. Operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site. Operators shall be required to understand basic mechanical and daily maintenance procedures for all Company earth-moving equipment. Operators must be capable of lifting, carrying, and/or pushing loads or 80-100 lbs. General Duties and Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading of materials
- Keeping equipment interior clean of dirt and trash and cleaning tracks daily
- Perform daily maintenance and inspection before operating
- Work with a team to complete tasks
- Operate all types and sizes of heavy equipment including, but not limited to: Loaders, Bulldozers, Excavators, and Various Attachments
- Maneuver heavy motorized equipment in an efficient manner to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner and adjust to performing other on-site tasks such as broom and shovel work to keep parking lots and roadways clean and safe
- Make certain that maintenance and inspection procedures are followed for trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and all other heavy equipment for proper performance and general upkeep
- Inspect all company equipment daily and perform necessary upkeep tasks such as fueling, greasing, and any normal operating adjustments
- Report any injuries and equipment damage to management immediately
- Always observe stipulated safety codes
- Ensure that each job site is safe, secure, and clean daily including making sure all tools and equipment are picked up and accounted for to prevent easily avoidable workplace hazards and accidents Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years grading experience required
- Understanding of grades and elevations
- Good communication skills
- Familiarity with construction equipment
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
