Role Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Heavy Equipment Operator and take charge of operating a variety of heavy machinery to bring large-scale projects to life! In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our construction operations. Heavy Equipment Operator's responsibility is to complete assigned tasks safely and accurately using heavy construction equipment. Responsible for inspecting trucks, trailers, and equipment before and after use, load and unload cargo, and move large pallets of inventory from one area to another. When necessary, will also perform routine maintenance on the machines or suggest best recommendations for repairs. Heavy Equipment Operators must follow company and governmental safety guidelines at all times. Key Responsibilities Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport it Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure it's in good working order Driving or controlling heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly Tracking scheduled maintenance of equipment and notifying their Supervisor if maintenance is past due Filling out performance records to report problems with equipment and track where and when it was used Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste Perform regular maintenance and assisting in repair work as needed Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties Strong knowledge of how to effectively operate a skid steer, excavator, dingo, dump/ bull dozer, trucks and other heavy equipment. Safely operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery to perform earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites by positioning equipment and preparing materials. Collaborate with project managers and team members to execute construction plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Manage the operation of specialized vehicles such as concrete mixers, dump trucks, front loader trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery as needed. Follow all safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction site protocols to prevent accidents or injuries. Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities for accountability and compliance. Qualifications 3+ Years of Heavy Equipment operating such as dozers, loaders (front loader trucks), skid steers, excavators (including hydraulic models), backhoes, cranes, dump trucks, and other machinery in a construction environment. Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on heavy equipment. Valid commercial driver's license with experience driving heavy-duty vehicles like dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks or farm machinery. Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and operational procedures. Ability to read technical manuals and interpret operational instructions accurately. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and site supervisors. Join us in building the future!
