Essential Functions Direct truck drivers during loading and unloading Operate scale, record weights and dimensions accurately Operate packaging equipment to securely transport inbound, cross-dock, and outbound loads Load and unload material at the standard rate of production Inspect material handling equipment before operating, record data from the inspection Visually differentiate between similar metals Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required 1+ year(s) experience operating heavy equipment Ability to consistently comply with PPE and safety standards while on the production premises Pass certifications on all materials handling equipment on site Experience working in a 24/7 production environment Strong work ethic with a positive attitude Work Environment The noise level is usually very loud Regularly works near moving mechanical parts Ability to lift up to 50lbs, several times per day The buildings are heated during the winter, but conditions could be cold in the winter & hot during the summer The processing areas are dirty & wet at times Processing facilities/areas are dusty
