Hydrovac / Jetter Operator Job Description This role operates hydrovac excavation units and high-pressure jetting equipment to support industrial, municipal, and commercial clients across the Kansas City metro area. You will safely expose underground utilities, clean sewer and storm lines, and perform specialized vacuum services while working outdoors in a fast-paced service environment. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, operating heavy equipment, and driving from site to site throughout the day. Responsibilities + Operate hydrovac excavation units to safely expose underground utilities and other buried infrastructure. + Use high-pressure jetting equipment to clean sewer and stormwater lines for industrial, municipal, and commercial clients. + Drive hydrovac trucks, jetter trucks, and dump trucks to and from job sites across the Kansas City metro and occasional out-of-town locations. + Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. + Set up work areas safely, including proper placement of equipment, hoses, and traffic control where required. + Follow all safety procedures and compliance requirements while working in and around active construction and commercial sites. + Assist with loading, unloading, and disposing of materials and debris collected during hydrovac and jetting operations. + Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and complete physically demanding tasks throughout the shift. + Communicate effectively with team members and site contacts to understand job requirements and complete work efficiently. + Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of trucks, equipment, and tools used on the job. + Document work performed as required, including basic job reports or logs. Essential Skills + Experience operating hydrovac equipment in a field or construction environment. + Experience operating high-pressure jetter equipment for sewer or storm line cleaning. + Ability to safely drive and operate dump trucks and similar commercial vehicles between job sites. + Comfort working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with changing job sites and priorities. + Capability to perform physically demanding work outdoors for extended periods. + checks, physicals, and commercial construction standards. + Valid driver's license suitable for operating hydrovac, jetter, and dump truck equipment, as required by the role.
