Metairie, LA Job Details Full-time $20 - $28 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Safety protocol adherence Excavation Mechanical excavators Full Job Description GLO Resources is currently seeking an Excavator Operator for an asphalt paving company to work in and around the Greater New Orleans area, including the North Shore . The pay is between $20-28/per hour, depending on experience. Workdays are Monday - Friday, 7 am -3:30 pm, with weekend and overtime available at times. Hours may vary. You must have experience running an excavator.
Position Summary:
This position is operating a Large Excavator for removing asphalt. You must have experience and knowledge of working on excavators. When not operating, you may be asked to do additional tasks/duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Noise level is generally loud. Other duties may be required when not operating the excavator.
Qualifications:
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
on a large excavator. A TWIC Card is a plus, but not required. Thorough knowledge in the proper use of a excavator and related materials and supplies used in heavy construction work. Must be able to work around utilities. Thorough knowledge of applicable safety precautions. Ability to work under general supervision. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Good communication skills to coordinate workflow with other crew members.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves regular physical activity, including: Standing for prolonged periods. Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching. Pushing and pulling heavy objects. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
