Heavy Equipment Operator The Lemoine Company - 4.0 Shreveport, LA Job Details Full-time 22 hours ago Qualifications Lifting equipment Forklift Driver's License Construction industry experience Driving Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description Position Summary LEMOINE is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support our Civil Construction Team. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy construction equipment used in earthwork, grading, and material handling activities. Ideal candidates will have experience operating bulldozers and excavators, with grade control system experience preferred. Key Responsibilities Safely set up and operate heavy equipment in accordance with project plans, specifications, and established procedures. Operate equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, front-end loaders, and track hoes to move dirt, aggregate, and other materials. Adjust machine settings to complete work accurately, efficiently, and within required tolerances. Control equipment using hand and foot levers for diesel, electric, or gasoline-powered machinery. Interpret hand signals, grade stakes, and markings to determine proper placement of materials. Operate equipment on uneven or unlevel terrain as required by site conditions. Assist with lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation or placement activities. Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required inspection checklists. Conduct minor maintenance and routine cleaning of equipment and tools. Comply with all LEMOINE safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Leadership. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant heavy equipment experience may substitute. Prior experience operating heavy construction equipment in civil, site, or earthwork projects. Knowledge of commonly used construction methods, tools, and procedures. Ability to follow instructions, adhere to established guidelines, and use sound operational judgment. Experience with grade control systems is a plus. Ability to work under direct supervision while maintaining productivity and safety standards. Valid driver's license required. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs. Strong hand-eye coordination and depth perception. Ability to climb on and off equipment and maintain balance. Ability to operate vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and construction equipment. Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions related to work and safety. May perform physically demanding labor in outdoor construction environments. Frequent use of hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects. Position may require prolonged sitting while operating equipment. May assist other craft workers as needed. Why
