Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Rubber Tire Excavator Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will primarily operate a rubber-tired excavator for various construction projects, including sidewalk and granite curbing removal and installation, drainage work, and road construction. The operator will also be responsible for operating additional equipment such as loaders, skid steers, asphalt rollers, and classic excavators, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate rubber tire excavators on prevailing wage projects, focusing on sidewalk and granite curbing removal and installation. Safely operate loaders, skid steers, asphalt rollers, and classic excavators when the rubber tire excavator is not in use. Perform daily equipment checks, including greasing machines, verifying fuel levels, and ensuring proper functionality. Identify and report any mechanical concerns or issues with equipment to management promptly. Maintain a high standard of safety and efficiency while operating machinery on construction sites. Ability to work within coned work zones
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating rubber tire excavators and other heavy machinery. Strong understanding of equipment maintenance, including performing daily inspections and basic upkeep tasks. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Experience in sidewalk, curbing, drainage, and roadwork construction is a plus. Familiarity with prevailing wage jobs is preferred. Reliable transportation to and from work A smartphone able to download timekeeping applications
Physical Requirements:
Ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long durations. Ability to work in varying outdoor weather conditions.
