Roller Operator
ABOUT THE
ROLEAmrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Roller Operator in our Asphalt division. An asphalt roller operator is responsible for compacting asphalt to achieve proper density, smoothness, and durability according to project specifications. They work closely with the paving crew to follow rolling patterns, monitor mat temperature, and ensure a safe, high-quality finished surface.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Operate asphalt rollers to compact pavement to specified density and smoothness
  • Monitor mat temperature and rolling patterns to achieve proper compaction
  • Coordinate with paving crew and paver operator to maintain rolling sequence
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance
  • Adjust rolling speed, vibration, and passes based on mix type and conditions
  • Identify and correct surface defects such as waves, marks, or uneven compaction
  • Follow job plans, grades, and project specifications accurately
  • Maintain strict compliance with job site safety procedures and traffic control requirements
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent
      Required Work Experience:
      2 years expereince minimum in Aspahlt industry.
        Travel Requirements:
        Daily travel required, Must have reliable transportation
        • Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
        • Operate asphalt rollers to compact pavement according to project specifications
        • Follow established rolling patterns to achieve proper density and finish
        • Monitor asphalt temperature and adjust rolling techniques as needed
        • Communicate effectively with the paving crew to maintain production flow
        • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and basic equipment maintenance
        • Identify and address minor surface imperfections during compaction
        • Follow safety procedures and traffic control requirements at all times
        • Maintain clean equipment and work areas at the end of each shift
        Physical Strength and Endurance:
        Capable of performing physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in
        Additional Requirements:
        • Successful candidates must ad to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
        Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven w the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
