Job Description
Venture Steel, a leading national steel service center, is seeking a talented addition to our staff. Venture Steel requires passing results of a criminal background check, physical, and 5 panel drug test as a condition of employment. The Crane Operator will safely operate an overhead crane via remote control or in the cab to transfer material from one location to another. Job Responsibilities and Duties Perform preventive maintenance checks daily Safely load and unload trucks Stack coils safely where they belong Locate and provide production lines with the coils listed on the work orders Empty the scrap buckets as needed Dump the coil tails from the uncoiler into the scrap bucket Maintain a clean work area Report any and all quality concerns promptly Perform all tasks in a safe manner, using good judgement Additional tasks assigned by supervisor Required Experience and Skills/Abilities Three years of 20+ ton overhead crane experience Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must be able to walk long distances Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time Excellent depth perception and reaction time Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records
