  • Full-Time | Village of Elk Rapids, MI Position Overview The Village of Elk Rapids is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join the Department of Public Works. This position performs advanced operational and maintenance duties requiring experience with heavy equipment and infrastructure systems. Why Elk Rapids?

  • Operate heavy equipment including trucks, loaders, graders, and backhoes
  • Perform maintenance and repair on streets, utilities, and infrastructure
  • Assist in water distribution and wastewater system operations
  • Lead or support snow removal and winter maintenance operations
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotation
  • Maintain records and follow safety procedures

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
  • Class B minimum
  • Experience operating heavy equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
