Excavator Operator McComb Contracting LLC Hazel Park, MI Job Details Full-time $23 - $35 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Outdoor work CDL A Construction site experience Materials handling Crew management Full Job Description Job description: Seeking a skilled and dependable Excavator Operator with proven experience in site work, grading, trenching, and utility installation. The ideal candidate will have strong equipment operating skills, a solid understanding of job site safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to advance into a Foreman role overseeing crew members and coordinating job site activities.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate excavators for site development, trenching, grading, and material handling Read and interpret site plans, grades, and project specifications Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Work closely with ground crews to ensure safe and efficient operations Follow all company and OSHA safety standards Assist with layout, trenching, and installation of utilities when needed Potentially supervise crew members and coordinate job tasks in a Foreman capacity
Qualifications:
3+ years of excavator operating experience in construction or site development Strong understanding of grading, trenching, and excavation techniques Ability to read blueprints and grade stakes preferred Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions CDL Class A is a plus Leadership experience or interest in moving into a Foreman role preferred
