This position plays a critical role in safely excavating around existing utilities and supporting fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure projects. We are looking for operators who value safety, productivity, and teamwork and who want to grow with a company that is expanding rapidly. Responsibilities Safely operate mini excavators on underground utility and directional drilling projects. Excavate around existing utilities while following utility locates and project plans. Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and restoration work. Support directional drilling crews with utility installation activities. Read utility locates and maintain safe excavation practices. Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks. Report equipment issues promptly. Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures. Work closely with laborers, drill operators, and project supervisors. Qualifications Previous mini excavator operating experience required. Experience working around underground utilities preferred. Knowledge of directional drilling, telecommunications construction, or utility installation preferred. Ability to safely excavate around marked utilities. Strong understanding of construction safety practices. CDL Class A required. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
