Job Description

Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer/CDL Driver 3046 Jens Way, Mount Pleasant, MI 48858 From $20 an hour - Full-time From $20 an hour - Full-time McGuirk Sand & Gravel is expanding and currently hiring for our excavation team. We are seeking experienced and dependable individuals for the following positions: Equipment Operators Construction Laborers Class A CDL Drivers These positions involve a variety of site work activities including excavation, backfilling, underground utility installation (sewer/water), and road building. Some travel outside the Mt. Pleasant area may be required. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, and backhoes Perform excavation, grading, and material handling tasks Assist with manual labor including shoveling and site preparation/cleanup Read grade stakes, blueprints, and follow site plans Inspect and maintain equipment; report issues promptly Follow all company safety policies and
OSHA/MIOSHA/MSHA
regulations Work as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and safely Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Previous construction or equipment operation experience preferred Valid driver's license required; Class A CDL preferred (or ability to obtain) Clean driving record Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen Ability to read grades and understand construction plans Mechanically inclined with knowledge of equipment and tools Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety Ability to work extended hours, 5-6 days per week, and perform physical labor Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Full benefits package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Aflac options 401(k) with employer match Paid holidays Company-paid life insurance
