Heavy Equipment Operator/CDL Driver

Linx Excavation is looking to hire an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a CDL -A with doubles endorsement. Operators are responsible for safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy machinery and driving commerical vehicles requiring a CDL-A with doubles endorsement. This role involves site preparation, material movement, and assisting with the transport of equipment and materials to and from job sites. Individuals must be open to performing both duties. Our company is fast growing!! We are located in Vassar, MI and service Bay, Tuscola, Saginaw, Huron, Lapeer, and Genesee counties.

Equipment Operation Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, front-end loaders, skid steers, and other equipment needed.
• Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe and functioning properly.
• Safely drive and operate vehicles that require a Commercial Driver's License (A) including dump trucks, tractor trailers, and other commercial vehicles.
• Loading and unloading of material using the appropriate equipment.
• Ensure that all equipment is operated efficiently and within manufacturers and safety guidelines.

CDL A Related Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive commercial vehicles to transport equipment and material to and from construction sites.
• Secure loads in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of transportation activities in accordance with CDL requirements.

Site Operations Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work with site managers to understand project scope and follow instructions for site grading, excavation, and material placement, using recommended equipment.
• Ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed on all job sites, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with all project leaders to ensure project deadlines and objectives are achieved.

Candidate Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Up to date and valid CDL (Class A) with doubles endorsement.
• Clean Driving Record
• At least 2+ years of CDL Heavy Duty Equipment Operation.
• Proven experience operating heavy equipment (bulldozers, excavators, loaders, etc.).
• Knowledge of state and federal transportation guidelines.
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA safety guidelines.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with routine equipment maintenance.
• Time management skills to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and work environments. Environments include but not limited to the following: high/low temperatures, loud and frequent noises, confined spaces, height, indoor/outdoor settings.
• Ability to work extended hours including overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to lift upwards of 60 pounds and bend, lift, and stand for extended periods of time.
