POSITION SUMMARY
Equipment operators are responsible for the safe operation of many types of road construction equipment used at Northland. Operators are required to operate their machines according to equipment operation specifications and maintenance requirements. They are expected to safeguard members of the public who may be near the project site and also co-workers moving around the site. Equipment requiring operation may include but is not limited to excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, rollers, pavers, skid steers, tractors, brooms, and crushing equipment. Operators perform a significant scope of work at Northland and the skills required align with the scope of work of the International Union of Operating Engineers. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

BENEFITS
Starting wage $40.02 - $47.25 /hour depending on Union Contract. Benefit package is offered through the applicable Union. Must be at least 18 years old. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Previous construction or physical job experience preferred. Physically fit to stand, squat, bend, lift, and walk for long durations in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone. Ability to listen and take direction from others while being a team player and helping to train less experienced employees. Ability to follow all safety procedures, rules, and regulations. Completion of additional project specific skills training as required.
