Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Heavy Equipment Operator and play a vital role in building infrastructure, commercial projects, and large-scale developments.
Heavy Equipment Operator Job Type:
Full-Time Position Summary Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment including: Dozers Excavators (Trackhoes) Tractors Scrapers/Pans Motor Graders Skid Steers Rollers and other construction equipment Perform grading, excavation, clearing, demolition, and earthmoving operations. Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grade stakes, and site layouts. Fine grade and rough grade to project specifications. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Work safely around underground utilities, structures, and other jobsite personnel. Assist with site preparation, clearing, grubbing, and demolition activities. Maintain production while ensuring quality workmanship. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Work effectively as part of a team and communicate with supervisors and project managers. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience. Ability to read plans and understand grade stakes. Experience with GPS machine control systems is helpful but not required. Knowledge of sitework, mass grading, excavation, and dirt work. Experience with storm drainage, sewer, water, and utility installation is a plus. Experience in clearing and demolition operations is preferred. Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus but not required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Requirements Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including overtime as needed. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Dependable transportation and reliable attendance. Duties Safely operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other construction machinery to perform tasks including grading, digging, lifting, and material handling. Manage the operation of specialized vehicles like concrete mixers, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks to transport materials across construction sites. Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance and identify maintenance needs. Follow project plans and instructions to execute excavation, site preparation, and material placement accurately. Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use and ensure safety protocols are strictly followed on-site. Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment at various job sites while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Maintain detailed logs of equipment operation times, maintenance activities, and safety checks to ensure compliance with company policies.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
