Turner, Inc. - 3.2 Durham, NC Job Details Full-time 21 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Teamwork Semi-truck operation CDL A Forklift Assembly Flatbed Full Job Description As one of the nation's leading crane and rigging companies , we are hiring a CDL Driver - Heavy Equipment to join our team in our Durham NC location. This is not a typical driving/hauling job — in addition to operating lowboy, step deck, and flatbed trailers, you'll work hands-on in the field to support crane operations and/or rigging/machinery moving projects. While most jobs are local, some overnight travel is required.
Note:
This is a physical, hands-on role. Drivers are fully involved in the crane and rigging work - not just trucking.
What You'll Do:
Haul crane components, heavy equipment, and heavy machinery using a variety of trailers (step deck, flatbed, lowboy, etc.) Assist with crane assembly/disassembly and rigging/machinery moving work Work closely with crane & rigging crews in a fast-paced jobsite environment Work in varied jobsite environments (indoors/outdoor and working at heights)
What We're Looking For:
Valid CDL Class A CDL driving experience required with step deck, lowboy, and/or flatbed trailers Must be able to work all shifts, including nights and weekends Able to lift 50-75 lbs and perform manual labor Team-oriented and safety-focused Must live locally within 45 min's (one-way) drive to our Durham location You Can Expect the
Following:
25% driving 50% manual labor (assembly and disassembly of cranes, rigging/machinery moving duties) 25% "hurry up and wait" We offer competitive pay, overtime, travel per diem, and excellent benefits.

Drivers are fully involved in crane and rigging — not just trucking. Are you clear on that? You'll work hands-on in the field to support crane operations and/or machinery moving. Are you good with that? What are your hourly pay expectations? Name the types of freight that you hauled on a Lowboy, Step Deck and/or Flatbed trailers. Please be specific (not "all kinds"). Do you have 1+ year experience hauling step deck, lowboy, or flatbed trailers? If yes, at which company and how many year(s) of experience? Where do you currently live (Town and State)? Do you live within 45 minutes (one-way) of our office in Durham NC (314 Muldee Street, 27703)? Are you available for out of town travel as needed? Are you available to work evenings, nights, weekends and some holidays? Can you currently lift, move and carry 50 to75 lbs without assistance?
