Heavy Equipment Operators - Paver, Screed, Transfer Machine, Shuttle Buggy Monroe, NC 28110 Full-time Full-time Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in paving, screeding, transfer machines, and related heavy machinery. In this vital role, you will operate and maintain essential equipment to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality pavement installation on various construction projects. Your expertise will contribute directly to building durable infrastructure while working in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Responsibilities Operate paving machines, screeds, transfer machines, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and other heavy equipment with precision and safety. Set up and calibrate paving equipment to meet project specifications and ensure optimal performance. Assist with concrete mixing, pumping, finishing, and forming processes to achieve smooth and durable surfaces. Coordinate with the construction team to prepare the site for paving activities, including rebar installation and concrete forming. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to prevent downtime and ensure operational safety. Follow all safety protocols and procedures on-site to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues. Support additional tasks such as rebar placement, site cleanup, and assisting with other construction activities as needed. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as pavers, screeds, transfer machines, excavators, loaders, and dump trucks within a construction setting. Strong knowledge of concrete work including mixing, pumping, finishing, and forming techniques. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly. Familiarity with construction site safety standards and procedures. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent certification preferred for operating commercial vehicles. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and quality standards. Prior experience with rebar installation and concrete finishing is highly desirable. This role is essential for delivering high-quality pavement projects efficiently while maintaining the highest safety standards.
