Job Description
Looking to start immediately, an experienced loader operator. Job Summary The Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various front-end loaders (wheel loader) in a sand and gravel pit environment. This role supports daily production by loading trucks with finished materials, feeding hoppers for the crusher plant, tracking load tickets, performing routine equipment inspections and maintenance, and assisting with crushing plant operations as needed. The position requires strong safety awareness, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in an outdoor, industrial setting. Key Responsibilities Operate a front-end loader to load customer trucks, and other vehicles with sand, gravel, aggregates, or other materials quickly, accurately and efficiently. Feed material hoppers and conveyors to supply the crusher plant, ensuring consistent material flow for processing while monitoring product specifications and avoiding contamination. Be able to use loader scales and accurately enter information to ensure accurate inventory, billing, and production records. Perform daily pre shift equipment checks, including visual inspections, fluid level monitoring (oil, hydraulic, coolant, fuel), greasing, and basic cleaning to maintain equipment in safe working condition. Report any equipment issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly. Assist with crushing plant duties as required, including helping maintain feed systems, clearing blockages, supporting plant cleanup, and performing general labor tasks around the crusher and screening areas. Maintain a clean and organized work area in the pit, including stockpiles, loading zones, and equipment bays to promote safety and efficiency. Adhere to all company safety policies, MSHA regulations, and site-specific procedures, including wearing required PPE and maintaining situational awareness around heavy equipment, traffic, and personnel. Communicate effectively with truck drivers, plant operators, supervisors, and team members to coordinate loading activities and resolve operational needs. Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall pit and plant operations. Pay is DOE Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time often on wet, slick, and/or uneven terrain or surfaces. Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and/or toting up to 50 Lbs. Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, push/pull, climb, kneel, and twist. Must be able work both inside and outside, in the heat and cold, and around moving equipment. Must be able to climb in to and out of a dozer and other equipment several times a day. Must be able to manipulate all controls safely and accurately by pushing, pulling, squeezing and turning levers, knobs, buttons, and wheels.
