Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Backhoe Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating backhoes and other heavy equipment to assist with excavation, grading, loading, and site preparation activities. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project progress while maintaining safety standards on the construction site. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about construction and heavy machinery operation to contribute to impactful projects. Responsibilities Operate backhoes with precision to perform digging, trenching, loading, and material handling tasks across various construction sites. Utilize additional heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machines as needed to support project requirements. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance; perform basic maintenance or report issues promptly. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members. Assist with site preparation activities including grading, leveling, and excavation for foundations or infrastructure projects. Coordinate with project managers and crew members to execute tasks efficiently and meet project timelines. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and work performed during shifts. Experience Proven experience operating backhoes in a construction environment is essential. Familiarity with other heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving equipment is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction equipment including Caterpillar machinery is preferred. Prior experience working on commercial construction sites with a focus on excavation, grading, paving or similar projects is advantageous. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent certification is required for operating certain vehicles like dump trucks or water trucks. Knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques or tanker operations is a plus but not mandatory. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety standards consistently. Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
