We are seeking a qualified Excavation Operator & Project Manager to join our team for an important project at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery in Zachary, Louisiana. This role will involve managing excavation operations and supervising all on-site activities to ensure respectful and efficient handling of this honored space.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation:

Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, and bulldozers to handle excavation and gravesite preparation tasks.

Other Services Provided:

We provide grounds maintenance services as well as gravesite excavation and headstone setting. Grounds maintenance services include mowing, trimming, edging and other related services. Candidate must be proficient in these tasks.

Site Supervision:

Lead and oversee daily operations, ensuring all work meets project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.

Site Maintenance:

Conduct routine equipment maintenance and site inspections to guarantee safe and smooth operation.

Project Coordination:

Work closely with crew, cemetery officials, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on schedule and with the highest level of respect and care.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA regulations, as well as company and cemetery safety protocols.

Problem Solving:

Address any challenges that arise on-site, providing timely and effective solutions.

Crew Leadership:

Provide direction, training, and support to crew members as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in excavation and site supervision, preferably in sensitive or high-standards environments.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid equipment operator's license, and any applicable certifications preferred. New Mexico Commercial Pesticide Applicator license preferred.

Skills:

Proficiency in operating heavy excavation machinery. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
