This energetic position involves operating a wide range of heavy equipment to support construction, maintenance, and repair projects across water, sewer, street, and utility systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality utility services for residents and businesses alike. Duties Operate heavy machinery including excavators to perform construction and maintenance tasks. Dig safely to locate water services and infrastructure. Repair watermains and services. Install new water services. Conduct horizontal drilling operations for utility installation or repair projects with precision and safety. Support construction site activities by setting up work zones, managing traffic control, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Perform routine inspections of equipment to identify mechanical issues Load and unload materials using appropriate heavy equipment to facilitate project progress efficiently. Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, drills, dump trucks, or similar machinery. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation. Hands-on experience working on construction sites with a focus on utility infrastructure projects. Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles including trucks with trailer, load and unload excavator, Experience with horizontal drilling techniques or paving projects is a plus.
