Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator and Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience operating various types of heavy machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment operation and maintenance, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members on-site. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and care of moderately complex construction equipment in the completion of assigned tasks. Employees will be required to perform a variety of manual tasks in connection with the operation of the equipment and are expected to operate one or more types of gas or diesel-powered equipment. Work is usually achieved under close supervision, but an individual is expected to demonstrate independence and should be able to complete tasks unattended. • CDL license is not required, but beneficial. General duties : Operates a truck to transport tools and other equipment as needed. On assignment, can competently operate an excavator, skid steer, bulldozer, wheel loader, or other heavy motorized equipment as needed. Performs daily maintenance checks on vehicles, including regular equipment inspections, and minor mechanical repairs on equipment, including automotive vehicles. Notifies supervisor of any repairs or safety concerns. Expected to adhere to safety procedures and regulations. Ability to read and interpret design plans, prints, and manuals. Ability to load and unload trucks as necessary. Performs a variety of simple manual tasks, such as setting culverts, setting drainpipe, use of a plate compactor, hand rake and shovel as needed. May be assigned a vehicle and is expected to maintain it in a clean condition.
