Hydrovac Operator

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively on construction sites. The Hydrovac Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that excavation tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Duties Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment as needed. Conduct excavation tasks by using high-pressure water to dig and vacuum soil while ensuring the integrity of underground utilities. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Collaborate with team members on construction sites to coordinate excavation projects effectively. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise. Drive commercial vehicles as required to transport equipment and materials to job sites. Requirements Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with hydrovac trucks. Familiarity with Vac Truck operation & maintenance is required. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment. Valid commercial driving license (CDL) is required. Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments typical of construction sites. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices while performing excavation tasks. Previous experience in construction or utility work is an asset but not mandatory.
