As a Loader Operator Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting daily yard operations by assisting with the movement and organization of vehicles and vehicle parts. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, value collaboration, and are eager to contribute to a positive workplace culture. The Loader Operator Assistant works closely with the Loader Operator and Production Manager to ensure vehicles are safely positioned and the yard remains clean and organized. Responsibilities Assist the Loader Operator in moving vehicles and vehicle parts throughout the yard and between the production shop and yard locations Ensure vehicles are positioned safely and are accessible for customers Maintain yard cleanliness, including row clean-up and general organization Support the automobile scrapping process, including removing cores and gas tanks from vehicles and placing components in designated areas Loosen, remove, and lift vehicle wheels, tires, and rims, and transport them as needed Communicate effectively with team members in person and by radio to coordinate tasks Address disputes professionally to maintain a positive team environment Keep the shop and shared work areas clean and organized Work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods in a physical role Complete other duties as assigned by the Production Manager Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience with forklifts is an asset, but not required Ability to regularly lift and move up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and bending Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and prioritize requests Problem-solving skills and attention to detail Professionalism under stress and a positive, friendly attitude The pay for this position is $16.50 - $18.00/hour.
