Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, and roll-off trucks to move and organize scrap metal materials. Load and unload scrap metal using appropriate equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Sort, clean, and prepare scrap metal for recycling or shipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards. Assist with sanitation tasks including garbage truck operations and debris removal to maintain a safe working environment. Support manufacturing processes by handling raw materials and ensuring timely delivery within the facility. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to heavy equipment operation, lifting techniques, and hazardous material handling. Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes related to scrap metal recycling. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the work shift. Excellent cleaning skills to maintain a tidy work environment. Familiarity with sanitation practices and safety regulations in industrial settings. Good communication skills for teamwork and safety reporting. Valid certifications for heavy equipment operation are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary licenses is a plus.
