Asphalt Milling Heavy Equipment Operator

Rogers Group is seeking an Asphalt Milling Heavy Equipment Operator to support our construction operations based out of Greer, South Carolina . This position is responsible for operating milling machines and related heavy equipment to remove asphalt pavement and prepare surfaces for paving. The ideal candidate will have prior milling or asphalt experience and an uncompromising commitment to jobsite safety.

Shifts may vary due to workload (days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required) Key Responsibilities Safely operate asphalt milling machines and associated heavy equipment under varying jobsite conditions Operate broom, skid steer, and other support equipment to clean and prep milled surfaces Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections, maintenance, greasing, and cleaning of equipment Assist with general labor tasks around the mill and jobsite as needed Communicate clearly with crew members to ensure efficient and safe operations Maintain a strong focus on safety for all personnel working around equipment Prepare milled surfaces to ensure readiness for paving operations Follow all company policies, OSHA/MSHA regulations, and supervisor instructions Work as part of a team to meet production, quality, and safety expectations Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of asphalt milling or asphalt crew experience preferred Solid understanding of the milling and surface preparation process Experience operating heavy equipment such as milling machines, skid steers, and brooms Familiarity with road construction environments; high-traffic or MUTCD experience a plus Strong safety mindset with the ability to follow procedures and regulations Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and working outdoors in extreme heat or cold Dependable attendance and willingness to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends Valid driver's license and clean driving record required Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing Benefits & Company Perks Rogers Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance with Health Savings Account and company contribution Company-paid Life and AD&D Insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution and match after one year Short- and Long-Term Disability coverage Paid holidays, including Christmas shutdown between Christmas and New Year's Day Paid vacation after a 180-day probationary period (accrual based on years of service) Annual performance-based merit increases Career growth and advancement opportunities Safe, drug-free working environment Equal Opportunity Employer Rogers Group, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
