Job Description
The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating overhead cranes to move, load, unload, and position steel materials throughout the facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production flow, ensuring workplace safety, and preventing damage to materials and equipment. 1. Operate Overhead Cranes Safely Operate overhead cranes to transport steel coils, beams, sheets, and other materials. Follow all safety procedures, signals, and load-handling guidelines. Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report any issues. 2. Support Production Operations Move materials efficiently to designated workstations and storage areas. Coordinate with production, shipping, and warehouse personnel. Ensure materials are available to support production schedules. 3. Maintain Workplace Safety & Accuracy Verify load weights and capacities before movement. Inspect loads for secure rigging and proper balance. Maintain accurate material movement records when required. Skills Required Overhead crane operation Load handling and material movement Understanding of safety regulations and procedures Ability to read work orders and shipping documents Basic equipment inspection and troubleshooting Communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and accuracy
