Job Description

This job description is for a Heavy Equipment Operator/laborer based in Amarillo , Texas. In this region, precision excavation typically focuses on earthwork , utility services, and specialized wastewater treatment systems. Job Summary The role involves assisting and operating heavy machinery to remove soil or rock to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities Precision Operation :
Operate mainline excavators, dozers, and skid steers to dig, move, and grade materials according to strict site plans.
Specialized Installation :
Execute tasks for septic systems, sewer lines, and water utility installations.
Site Safety :
Adhere to OSHA regulations and perform daily pre
  • and post-operation equipment inspections.
Coordination :
Work closely with the foreman and superintendent to maintain tight schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
Maintenance :
Perform routine equipment servicing, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience :
Typically 1-3 years of experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes or skid steers.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency with shooting grade and the ability to read site blueprints.
Licensing :
A valid driver's license is required; a Class A CDL is often preferred or required for transporting equipment.
Physical Demands :
Ability to work outdoors in Amarillo's variable weather, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain physical agility for climbing and stooping.
Certifications :
OSHA safety training is highly valued. Typical Benefits in

Local rates for operators often range from $19 to $30 per hour , depending on experience.
