Pay:
$800 - $1,000 per week + per diem + bonus About Mountain View Vocational Institute Mountain View Vocational Institute has been training tradespeople in El Paso for over a decade. We are a TWC-licensed career school offering CDL, heavy equipment, NCCCO crane, welding, construction, and culinary programs. Our students include transitioning service members, veterans using GI Bill benefits, and career changers across the region. We are growing and adding heavy equipment instructors to expand our training capacity. The Role You will train students to safely and confidently operate heavy equipment through our hands-on, cohort-based programs. You will take students from classroom fundamentals and safety through real seat time on the machines, preparing them for jobsite-ready careers in construction and heavy civil work. What You Will Do Deliver classroom instruction on heavy equipment fundamentals, controls, and jobsite safety Lead hands-on training and supervised seat time on heavy equipment Coach students on operating technique, maneuvers, and jobsite readiness Evaluate and document student progress against program requirements Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs Maintain accurate training records and student documentation Uphold a safety-first training environment at all times What You Need Minimum two years of verifiable hands-on experience operating heavy equipment Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Must be able to qualify as an instructor under the applicable state career school requirements (TWC in Texas) Strong communication skills and patience working with students of varied backgrounds and experience levels Reliable, punctual, and committed to student success Preferred Prior instruction or training experience NCCCO crane certification or other equipment certifications Bilingual English/Spanish Military background or experience working with veteran and transitioning service member populations Compensation and Benefits Full-time, 1099 independent contractor position Hands-on role with a growing trades school Steady, year-round work Per diem and performance bonus Opportunity to advance as we add crews and programs How to Apply Send your resume, or just call or text us to talk.
