Are you a skilled equipment operator who takes pride in safe, efficient work? Texas Sterling Construction is seeking an experienced Loader to support our crews on roadway and underground utility projects. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating heavy equipment to assist with excavation, material handling, and site preparation. The Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment to support roadway and underground utility construction projects. This role is hands-on and field-driven, requiring strong equipment operating skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with crews to maintain safe and productive jobsite operations. The Operator supports daily activities by handling excavation, material movement, and site preparation, ensuring work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards. Key Responsibilities Operate front-end loaders and backhoes to support excavation, trenching, backfilling, and material handling Work closely with pipe crews and laborers to maintain workflow and production goals Follow plans, grade stakes, and operator direction to ensure work is performed to specification Perform fine grading and trench work around underground utilities with precision and care Maintain constant awareness of surroundings to ensure safe operation around personnel, equipment, and existing utilities Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working condition Identify and report maintenance or safety issues with equipment promptly Assist with site preparation and general jobsite needs when equipment operation is not required Support proper trench safety and jobsite safety practices at all times Communicate effectively with foremen, superintendents, and crew members to ensure smooth operations To perform this role successfully, candidates must be able to operate equipment safely and efficiently while supporting overall jobsite production.
