Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will operate specialized hydrovac excavation equipment to safely and efficiently expose underground utilities, perform potholing, and assist with various construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure safety, precision, and productivity on-site, contributing to successful project completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, water trucks, and backhoes to perform excavation tasks with precision. Use high-pressure water jets and vacuum systems to excavate soil around underground utilities and structures without damaging existing infrastructure. Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality before each shift. Assist with the setup and breakdown of work zones, including traffic control and site preparation. Collaborate with construction teams to locate underground utilities using horizontal drilling techniques and other detection methods. Maintain detailed records of excavation activities, including measurements, locations, and safety checks. Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Experience Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks or similar heavy equipment in construction or utility installation projects. Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, and water jet technology is highly desirable. Valid commercial driver's license with clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is essential. . Construction site experience demonstrating knowledge of safety procedures and utility location techniques. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
