For a faster application response, go directly to https://wtxpaving.com/application/ Heavy Equipment Operator Overview Operate front-end loader, backhoe, motor grader, roller, and other heavy equipment on project sites Work includes road construction, excavation, truck loading, stockpiling, excavation, stockpiling, spreading materials. All work will be local to the Lubbock area This is a senior equipment operator position requiring a high level of skill Tasks will be out-of-door in all weather conditions Heavy Equipment Operator Duties Operate heavy equipment to on road construction jobsites Control machine speed, direction, bucket height and bucket angle Perform daily preventative maintenance such as inspection and fluid check Notify management of any equipment or safety issues Read and understand civil plan drawings Work subgrade and base to achieve proper processing Finish-grading for correct grade (blue-top and GPS) Use GPS automatics for machine control Coordinate daily project tasks between work crew members Heavy Equipment Operator Required Skills and Qualifications Valid Driver's License (REQUIRED) ( NO Identification Card! ) Experience in heavy equipment operation (required) Basic mechanical skills Conscientious and safety-oriented attitude Experience in road construction
