  • Full-time We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Material Handler Operator with extensive experience operating heavy equipment equipped with grapples and magnets.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of proven expertise in handling, sorting, and moving scrap metal and other materials in a fast-paced recycling environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and precise material handling operations, contributing directly to productivity, safety, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Safely operate Sennebogen 825 and 835 material handlers using grapples and magnets. Load, unload, stockpile, and move scrap metal and other recyclable materials. Perform daily pre
  • and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe and properly maintained.
Assist with sorting and organizing materials for processing, storage, and shipment. Follow company and industry safety protocols at all times, including proper use of PPE. Communicate effectively with yard supervisors, scale operators, and other team members to coordinate efficient workflow. Detect and report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions immediately. Maintain accurate records of material movements and adhere to operational guidelines. Qualifications Minimum 10 years' experience operating Sennebogen material handlers (825/835 models preferred) or equivalent. Demonstrated proficiency with both grapple and magnet attachments . Certification and/or training in heavy equipment operation (OSHA, NCCCO, or equivalent). Strong understanding of scrap metal handling, recycling yard operations, and safety practices. Ability to perform equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to safety, reliability, and efficiency. Preferred Attributes Experience working in metal recycling facilities. Knowledge of ISRI scrap specifications. Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment issues. Strong situational awareness and ability to adapt in high-traffic environments.
