Equipment Operator

AUTOMOTIVE TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, INC. EQUIPMENT OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY

Automotive Testing and Development Services, Inc. (ATDS) is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Equipment Operator to support maintenance operations at the Uvalde Proving Grounds (UPG), a 5,000-acre automotive testing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating farm and construction equipment, a strong safety record, and a willingness to learn new skills in a dynamic testing environment. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, graders, tractors, backhoes, skid steers, and loaders Maintain test routes, access roads, and open areas by clearing debris, vegetation, and hazards Perform grading and surface leveling to ensure safe and consistent driving conditions Conduct basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Support drainage, erosion control, and site improvement activities Follow all safety procedures and support team operations as needed Qualifications 2+ years of experience operating farm or construction equipment Strong understanding of equipment operation and job site safety Ability to read work orders, site plans, or basic layouts Valid driver's license (CDL a plus) HS Diploma or GED is required; Associate degree or technical training preferred Work Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and terrain Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and operating equipment for extended periods Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergency calls
